- The Happy Tart Has Plans for Expansion at Del Ray Location: The Happy Tart, Del Ray's popular gluten-free bakery, has plans to add seating and expand its menu, according to plans filed with the City. After opening four years ago as a retail bakery and take-out, The Happy Tart, located at 2307A Mt. Vernon Ave. (see map below) in the heart of Del Ray, has expanded its business by adding a second location in Falls Church.
- Michaels Grand Opening Sunday in Alexandria: Arts and crafts store Michaels will hold its grand opening Sunday at its new store at Bradlee Shopping Center, 3654 King St. in Alexandria. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. and doors will open at 10 a.m.
- BurgerFi Opening Date Announced in Alexandria: BurgerFi will open its doors for a soft opening on Monday, Sept. 26 at its newest Northern Virginia location, at 111 N. Pitt St. in Old Town Alexandria, one of the owners confirmed Monday. The burger restaurant, an independently owned and operated franchisee of BurgerFi International, promises no steroids, hormones or antibiotics in its burgers.
- The Italian Place Opens for Business in Alexandria: The Italian Place, a new gourmet market and eatery, was set to open its doors Thursday in Alexandria. The new business was preparing to welcome customers after a 9:30 a.m. ribbon cutting.
- New Del Ray Dental Practice to Hold Ribbon Cutting: Looking for a dentist for your little one? You might want to stop by this weekend at Alexandria Children's Dentistry, celebrating its opening in Del Ray with an office opening party Saturday.
