Alexandria Pet Of The Week: A Dog To Become Your Shadow

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An adoptable pet from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is getting a helping paw from the charitable arm of We Rate Dogs.

We Rate Dogs, a popular account that rates pictures and videos of dogs, is one of the sponsors for 5-year-old dog Shadow's adoption fees through the We Rate Dogs' 15/10 Foundation and Doug's Buds. Like his name suggests, Shadow will be your shadow, making the ideal family dog.

Shadow is a 5-year-old male dog who weighs just over 100 pounds. He's a gentle giant, though, and is social, intelligent, and easygoing. Some of Shadow's favorite activities are batting around a soccer ball in the play yards or fetching tennis balls. Shadow has done well with children of all ages and would make an excellent family dog. His previous owner says he did well with other animals too, but of course we always recommend proper, slow introductions. Shadow loves playing with toys and keeping mentally busy with puzzle toys and stuffed Kongs. He also knows commands like sit and stay.
