Alexandria Pet Of The Week: Say Cheese For Jack

ALEXANDRIA, VA — For families who love their big dogs, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is hosting a "Go Big and Go Home" adoption event during the weekend of April 26 to 28. All dogs 40 pounds and up will have a "name your price" adoption fee.

One of the qualifying pets is Jack, who may win you over with his cheesy smile and energetic nature.

Just call him Colby Jack, like the cheese. This boy and his goofy, cheesy grin are sure to melt your heart! Adoptable Jack is a 3-year-old, 56-pound male dog who is searching for a family to call his own. He is incredibly smart and is clicker trained. He knows sit and paw, but there's no end to what he's capable of learning. Jack has grown in confidence since his time with us. He is a playful, energetic guy who would do best with a companion who can take him on walks or play with him in the yard. Jack loves to play with busy boxes and other inexpensive food puzzles. Two of his favorites are an old towel rolled up with treats or an empty egg carton filled with peanut butter. The simple things, right? Jack also gets along with other dogs, so if you have a friendly pup at home, Jack could be a great playmate.
