Alexandria Urges Residents to Avoid Four Mile Run Waters
Warning is in effect through Wednesday, May 29, following sewage spill.

Alexandria is urging residents to avoid the waters of Four Mile Run south of I-395 following a sewage spill Sunday.
The spill resulted from a collision involving a Don's Johns sanitation services truck on Route 50. The accident sent as much as 1,800 gallons of human waste into sewage drains in Arlington County, according to NBC Washington.
The recommendation to avoid the waters of Four Mile Run along S. Glebe Road is in effect through Wednesday, May 29. The city also urges owners to keep their pets away from the water.
