Upon arriving at the scene, the officer spoke with both the bite victim and the owner of the dog. The victim suffered a minor leg wound and did not require medical treatment. The dog was up to date on its vaccinations.
The dog owner was glancing at items on the shelf and did not witness the incident. It was unclear what provoked the dog.

The dog and owner do not live in Alexandria and the bite report was submitted to Animal Control in the appropriate municipality.
The dog is current on rabies vaccinations and because the owner does not reside in Alexandria, the bite report will be submitted to Animal Control in the appropriate jurisdiction.
Two birds through one window — On April 29, an Animal Control officer received a call for service from the 300 block of King Street reporting a bird flew into a residence through an open window and would not leave.
During the phone conversation, the complainant said a second bird entered her residence through the same window.
The officer instructed the resident to close the window and wait for Animal Control to arrive.
After arriving at the scene, Williams and a maintenance worker were able to capture the two Mourning Doves and return them to the wild.
