Anniversary Sausage Coming to Let's Meat On The Avenue

Let’s Meat On The Avenue is celebrating its fifth anniversary in Del Ray Saturday with the debut of a new product—the Anniversary Sausage.

Blended with mild flavors and a hint of heat, the sausage will honor Mount Vernon Avenue. The special banger will initially be available at the butcher shop from Saturday, April 27, through Friday, May 3. 

"It's been a great five years and quite a thrill for me to serve so many customers who have become my good friends," butcher and shop owner Steve Gatward said in a press release. "Del Ray is an absolute jewel of a community and I look forward to selling the very best beef, poultry and pork and other fresh farm products here for many, many more years to come.”

Gatward ensures the beef he carries is free-range, pasture-fed and hormone and steroid free. He sources mainly from Virginia farms, but reaches out to suppliers for more exotic selections.

Let’s Meat on the Avenue is located at 2403 Mount Vernon Ave. and is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The shop is closed on Monday.
