City of Alexandria Seeks Election Officers
Civic-minded residents are sought to ensure a smooth presidential election process on Nov. 8.

From the City of Alexandria:
There have been elections in Alexandria since George Washington’s time. This year, the Alexandria Elections Office is looking for nearly 500 civic-minded residents to make sure the presidential election on Nov. 8 runs smoothly, fairly and efficiently. Election officers must be registered voters in Virginia and willing to work from 4:45 a.m. until after the polls close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. They receive $150 for their efforts, but the reward for preserving our democratic process is priceless.
If you are interested in serving, please come to an open house on Thursday, July 28 from 5-9 p.m. or Saturday, July 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Elections Office is located at 132 N. Royal St. At the open house, you will learn about Election Day responsibilities and share patriotic refreshments with our current election officers.
