First Thursday: Did You Know?

After a week’s delay because of weather, the Del Ray Business Association snuck in its August First Thursday street festival along Mount Vernon Avenue.

The theme of Thursday’s event was “Did You Know?” and some of Del Ray’s lesser-known businesses were highlighted.

The Mount Vernon Community School PTA collected art supplies, new and used books and gently warn children's clothing at the farmers market lot to gear up for the school year, which got underway last week.

The final First Thursday of the year will be held Sept. 5 along Mount Vernon Avenue. The theme of the event is “Lights, Camera, Action!”
