Former Del Ray Antique Dealers Reopen South of Alexandria as Evolution Home
Two former Del Ray antique dealers will reopen as one shop on Shields Avenue.

Evolution Home, a vintage, antique and consignment home furnishings store formed by the merging of two former Del Ray businesses, opens this weekend south of Alexandria.
The grand opening for the new store—painted bright green—along the Route 1 corridor will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Potomac West Interiors and Not Too Shabby Consignments were located on Mount Vernon Avenue for 14 years. The businesses left after the shopping center inhabited by both stores was sold to make way for a new Walgreens. The businesses combined to form Evolution Home.

At the new location, located at 6239 Shields Ave. on the corner of Richmond Highway and North Kings Highway, customers will find an array of vintage and antique goods—mid-century modern furnishings, primitive accessories, luxe-designer pillows and vintage furniture, according to Greater Alexandria Patch.
Owner Susan Driscoll said she "hopes that Evolution Home will be a vintage and antique shopping destination for those in the neighborhood and the D.C. metro area."
