Gas Station Hold-Up in Alexandria: Police

A suspect brandished a knife and stole cigarettes Sunday night, police said.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a gas station Sunday night in the 3500 block of King Street.

Police did not give the name of the business or its exact address, but the only gas station in that block is the Sunoco gas station, located at the busy intersection of King Street, Quaker Lane and Braddock.

The suspect brandished a knife and stole cigarettes, police said. There were no injuries. Police sent out an alert about the incident at 9:40 p.m. Sunday.

On August 25 last year, police reported a burglary at the CVS store on Quaker Lane, where the front door was smashed in.
