IHOP National Pancake Day Tuesday

Free pancakes at the Alexandria International House of Pancakes. Patrons are encouraged to leave donations for the Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

Expect lines and crowds at the International House of Pancakes on Tuesday as customers line up for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes.

IHOP started National Pancake Day in 2006, asking customers to leave a donation for charity.

In the Washington metro area, the beneficiary is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which works to find a cure and raise awareness for these and other types of cancer. Last year, the 72 IHOPs in our area raised $185,000 for LLS. The goal for 2013 is $220,000.
