ALEXANDRIA, VA — There's no bad time to take home a new furry friend, but this weekend will be an opportune time in Alexandria.

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is hosting Paws on the Park, an animal festival Sunday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oronoco Bay Park. Along with fun for the whole family, the festival will have a Rescue Row with at least 10 animal welfare organizations and rescues offering adoptable animals to meet. Proceeds from Paws in the Park benefit the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, which runs the city's animal shelter and helps animals and pet owners throughout the community.

Patch regularly features adoptable pets from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. This week's featured pet is Bubbly.
