Northside 10 Eyeing November Opening in Alexandria
New eatery will be replacing Chez Andree on East Glebe Road in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA - The owners of Northside 10, coming soon to 10 E. Glebe Road in Alexandria, are eyeing a November opening for the highly anticipated new neighborhood restaurant, according to partner Gregory Dushaw.
Dushaw, a partner in Meridian Place Foods Group, LLC, says the focus is on creating a friendly gathering spot and crafting a menu that will embrace customer favorites.
In addition to a place to gather to watch sports in the restaurant bar, Dushaw says the partners are also excited about creating special culinary family-friendly events, like oyster roasts, for the neighborhood.

The new restaurant will be opening this fall at the location of former longtime Alexandria institution Chez Andrée. The family-run French restaurant at 10 E. Glebe Road was a go-to spot for many Alexandria for more than 50 years when it closed its doors last year.
Now, business partners in the new restaurant -- Dushaw, Hubert Benson, John Kurtz, Kevin Keefer and Teresa Keefer are planning to open the new eatery at the location in November and are in the process of gutting the interior to make renovations to the building including to the kitchen and bathrooms.

The new restaurant's menu will share some of the favorites from the group's Southside 815 restaurant menu including pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, fresh seafood and salads and much more, Kurt has said. Kurtz is the longtime general manager for Southside 815. Teresa Keefer will oversee the kitchen at the new restaurant, as she does at Southside 815. She has also worked at Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston.
They expect to hire 30 to 35 employees and do not plan on expanding the building so there will still be the same number (47) of parking spaces as before. They hope to feature live acoustic music at Northside 10. Proposed hours are 6 a.m. to midnight, Sunday-Thursday and 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
