Playoff baseball in Alexandria — The Alexandria Aces play host to the Rockville Express at 7 p.m. at Frank Mann Field for a second-round Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League playoff game. Adult tickets are $5, and children 12 and under are $3.

Open mike night — Signup sheet at St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub (2300 Mount Vernon Ave.) goes out at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. See what hidden talents your friends and neighbors will bring to the stage. Runs until 10 p.m.

Joe Chiocca Band — This four-piece kicks off a set of classic rock, R&B and Blues covers and original music at 8 p.m. at Evening Star Café (2000 Mount Vernon Ave.). You can expect covers from The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, The Band, Little Feat, Van Morrison and Allman Brothers.

Young Professionals Night (35 and under) at the Synetic Theatre — A $25 ticket to see “A Midsummer Night's Dream” includes a 6 p.m. happy hour at Jaleo Crystal City and the 8 p.m. performance. The theater is located at 1800 S. Bell St. in Arlington. The show runs through Sunday.

All you can eat sashimi at Izakaya Seki — Head up to U Street in the District to celebrate the restaurant’s one-year anniversary, Chef Hiroshi Seki will cut a 100-pound yellowfin tuna down to size beginning at 5 p.m. and then customers can enjoy all-you-can-eat tuna sashimi for $15.
