'Scandal' Star to Campaign for Hillary Clinton in Del Ray

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Actress Bellamy Young, best known for playing first lady Melody "Mellie" Grant on ABC's "Scandal," will be campaigning Saturday in Alexandria for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

During a "retail walk" in Del Ray, Young will discuss Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine's new plan to support small businesses at every step of their lifecycle - from starting up to getting a loan to having one less form to fill out. And at organizing events in Alexandria and Arlington, Young will discuss Clinton and Kaine's support for paid family leave, making quality, affordable child care a reality and providing women with pay equity, according to the campaign.

Young will kick off her campaign swing in the area Saturday in Arlington and make her way to Del Ray by about 10:45 a.m., visiting local businesses. She'll begin her tour of the area at the Del Ray farmers market, located at 2311 Mt. Vernon Ave.

Afterward, she'll head to a campaign office at 3543 W. Braddock Road, Suite D1, near Safeway, for an Alexandria Canvass kickoff.

Young also made stops for Clinton this week in Ashburn and Fredericksburg.
