Sugar Shack to Open DC Location
Donut shop's first DC location in Shaw will feature "speakeasy" bar similar to Alexandria location, report says.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Former state Del. Rob Krupicka is keeping busy opening yet another Sugar Shack. In addition to his two locations in Alexandria and Arlington, he'll be opening a DC location, he announced on Twitter.
Lease Signed: Sugar Shack DC will be at 1932 9th Street NW. We can’t wait to open in Shaw and for late night hours for @930Club patrons.

The District of Columbia location will likely open in the winter, Krupicka tells Borderstan. The other locations are in Alexandria at 804 N. Henry St. and Arlington, at 1014 S. Glebe Road. The original store is in Richmond; Krupicka got the idea of opening a Sugar Shack after sampling donuts and coffee while working in Richmond as a state lawmaker from Alexandria.
