Suspect Arrested in 2015 Homicide in Alexandria: Police

Man now faces murder and firearm charges in July 2015 killing, according to Alexandria Police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The suspect has been arrested in a 2015 fatal shooting near the Braddock Road Metro station, according to Alexandria Police.

Rashad Lonzell Adkins, 21, of Alexandria, was charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The shooting occurred July 2, 2015 in the 700 block of N. Fayette Street.

“Once again, these indictments show the strong cooperation and collaboration between the police department and the Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.  With their assistance, the Alexandria Police Department has now closed the last remaining homicide from 2015,” said Chief of Police Earl Cook. 

“Our detectives continue to show their commitment to the safety of Alexandria by their persistence in removing violent suspects from our community," Cook said.
