Thunderstorms Cause Thousands Of Power Outages In Alexandria
After Tuesday evening thunderstorms passed through, Dominion Energy's outage map shows thousands of power outages in parts of Alexandria.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Thunderstorms swept through the region Tuesday evening, leaving thousands without power in Alexandria and other parts of Northern Virginia.
Dominion Energy's outage map shows over 2,700 outages in the North Ridge area, including Parkfairfax and a western part of Del Ray. There are another 200 outages in Del Ray east of Mount Vernon Avenue and over 600 in Arlandria.
Mayor Justin Wilson encouraged residents to report outages to Dominion Energy at 866-366-4347 or online.

While the severe thunderstorm warning has expired in Alexandria, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch through 10 p.m. Tuesday. A flood watch is also in effect through midnight in the DC-Baltimore region.
