VeloCity Hosting Fundraising Bike Swap

VeloCity Bicycle Cooperative is presenting a fundraising bicycle swap from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, in the vacant lot next to Bean Creative in the 2100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Admission is $3 per person and kids 12 and under can enter for free.

VeloCity co-founder Christian Myers said about a dozen bicycle vendors have signed up to participate in the event.

VeloCity is a nonprofit that educates community members about bike maintenance, safety and other issues. Volunteers at VeloCity also work with the City of Alexandria to provide community service hours for Alexandria youth and summer employment through the TeensWork program.
