Volunteer Alexandria  —  Volunteer Reception Center Orientation Available

123 N. Alfred Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314  Website: volunteeralexandria.org. Volunteer Alexandria is looking for volunteers who would like to help run Volunteer Reception Centers, should a disaster affect the Alexandria area. A VRC provides a central location where spontaneous, unaffiliated volunteers can go to be placed in volunteer positions to assist with disaster recovery. On May 29, Volunteer Alexandria will conduct a VRC orientation from 1 p.m. -2 p.m. at 123 N. Alfred St., Alexandria, VA 22314. Alexandria Childhood Obesity Action Network  —  Garden Volunteers

Alexandria Juvenile Court —  Receptionist

Alexandria Visitors Center at Ramsay House    Alexandria Tourism Volunteers

Goodwin House   Music and Computer Volunteers

Lee-Fendall House Museum Immediate and Ongoing Volunteers

Liberty's Promise  Job Skills Workshop Volunteers

Volunteers work directly with participants to develop resumes and cover letters to send to pre-selected host organizations as part of our internship program for low-income, documented immigrant youth. Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)   Emergency Volunteer Training

4480 King St. Alexandria, Va. 22302   Website: alexandriava.gov/MedicalReserve. Volunteers are needed to support public health in an emergency or disaster. Volunteers will receive free preparedness training and participate in drills and exercises. Training in a variety of topics, including public health, emergency management, CPR, First Aid, and more. National Organization for Victim Assistance    Advocate Certification Volunteers

National Parent Teacher Association    Resource Development Intern

Senior Services of Alexandria   Friendly Visitor Volunteers

SOHO (Space Of Her Own)    Volunteer Mentor Orientation Sessions

The Art League Madison Annex, 901 N. Fairfax St., Alexandria VA 22314  Website: spaceofherown.org. SOHO is an art-based mentoring program that allows local low-income pre-teen girls to attend artistic and life skills workshops with mentors, culminating with renovation of the girl’s  bedroom. Volunteer orientation sessions will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will provide details about SOHO, the mentor commitment and the application process. T.C. Williams High School    All Night Graduation Celebration Volunteers
