Volunteer Alexandria Old Town Arts & Crafts Festival  —  Event Volunteers and Face Painters

Volunteers are needed June 16, 2013 to assist the artists with unloading their cars at 7 am and load their cars at the end of the day at 9 pm.  Volunteers with face painting experience needed for children’s activity between 10:30 am and 5pm, two-hour shifts available. Volunteer Alexandria   —  Receptionist Volunteer

Alexandria Black History Museum  —  Reception Volunteer
902 Wythe Street, Alexandria, VA 22314  •  Website: alexandriava.gov/BlackHistory.  Volunteers are needed who have an interest in history, and in particular, Alexandria's African-American history and culture, to staff the reception desk, greet visitors, handle phone calls, and help with special projects. Alexandria Childhood Obesity Action Network  —  Garden Volunteers

Liberty's Promise  —  Job Skills Workshop Volunteers

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)  —  Emergency Volunteer Training

Volunteers will receive free preparedness training and participate in drills and exercises. Training in a variety of topics, including public health, emergency management, CPR, First Aid, and more. National Parent Teacher Association  —  Resource Development Intern

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN)  —  Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

1705 Fern Street, Alexandria, VA 22302  •  Website: scan.org. Volunteers are needed to advocate for children in the Alexandria/Arlington juvenile court system. Volunteers advocate for children in abuse and neglect cases, custody cases, and cases where a child is in need of services. Senior Services of Alexandria  —  Friendly Visitor Volunteers

Sexual Assault Center  —  Hotline Volunteers
Website: alexandriava.gov/Volunteer. Volunteers are needed to be hotline companions on the 24/7 crisis hotline.

Volunteers will provide support and resources over the phone and accompanying victims of sexual assault to the hospital and police station. Training will be provided. The Lyceum  —  Visitor Services and Museum Shop Volunteers

June 22, 2013 — The 2013 Del Ray Music Festival  —  Set-Up and Event Volunteers, Mt. Vernon Recreation Center Fields, 2701 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA
