• Many Virginians don't have access to an attorney: VSB report (wric.com) — Residents in Emporia are part of Virginia’s 6th judicial circuit, where the number of practicing attorneys has dropped nearly 30% over two decades, worsening access to legal help. A new Virginia State Bar report warns that many rural areas, including Greensville and nearby counties, are now “legal deserts” with very few lawyers. The study urges reforms to attract more attorneys to underserved communities.
