Joshua Daniel Danehower, 33, of Arlington, has been charged in the fatal shooting of Gret Glyer, 32, of Fairfax, police said.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Five days after a fundraising platform CEO was fatally shot in his home in Fairfax, police announced an arrest in the case Wednesday.
During a news conference, Fairfax police confirmed the arrest of Joshua Daniel Danehower, 33, of Arlington in connection with the homicide of Gret Glyer, 32, the founder of the online fundraising platform, DonorSee.
According to police, Danehower is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Officers said he is an "acquaintance" of the family and that it was a tip that ultimately led them to Danehower.
"We conducted interviews. Someone came forward and said we should look at Danehower," police said during the news conference. "There is no reason to believe he was colluding with anyone, and we believe he acted alone."

Danehower was arrested at Dulles International Airport where he worked, police said.
Police said they are still trying to determine a motive for the fatal shooting.
"We are still early in this investigation," police said.
According to police, just before 3 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 9800 block of Bolton Village Court in Fairfax for a shooting that just occurred.
Once on scene, police said they went into the house and found Glyer. He'd been shot with a gun.
"During the course of our investigation, it was revealed that multiple rounds were fired in Mr. Glyer while he was asleep in bed," police said at the news conference.
"The investigation also revealed that Mr. Glyer's wife was asleep at the time of the shooting and was lying in bed next to him," police added.
Glyer leaves behind two young children and a wife, according to DonorSee, which is raising funds for his family in the wake of his death. As of Tuesday, the platform has raised nearly $30,000 from more than 270 donors.
