9 Juveniles, 1 Adult Charged For Homecoming Weekend Crimes: Police

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fairfax City Police recently arrested an 18-year-old man and served nine juvenile suspects a combined total of 24 juvenile petitions in connection to a string of events that started at Fairfax High School's homecoming football game on Oct. 17, according to authorities.

Around 9 p.m., officers noticed a group of young people acting disorderly during the homecoming game, according to the incident report. One of the members of the group was escorted off campus.

Around 10 p.m., an officer responded to a robbery report at the McDonald's at 10775 Fairfax Blvd. A group of young people assaulted a juvenile at the restaurant and stole their clothing, according to police.

Investigators believe some of the suspects involved in the assault and robbery at the McDonald's were part of the group of disorderly teens at the football game, reports say.

On Oct. 18, around 10 p.m., city police investigated a report of a firearm being discharged at a party in the 4000 block of Virginia Street, according to authorities. The suspects fled before officers arrived.

“A group of suspects assaulted the victim, resulting in a non-life threatening injury,” according to the incident report. “During the assault a firearm was discharged, striking a wall. The suspects took the victim's shoes and clothing.”

Police believe the same group of suspects stole multiple items from the Wawa at 9700 Fairfax Blvd. around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 19, according to reports.

On Dec. 3, investigators obtained multiple juvenile petitions, which were served to the nine juveniles involved in the case:

  • 8 for robbery
  • 2 for felony assault by mob
  • 1 for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • 1 for discharge of a firearm within a residence
  • 10 for misdemeanor assault by mob
  • 2 for petit larceny

Two of the juveniles are being held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center until their hearing, according to police.

On Dec. 8, police arrested 18-year-old Burak Molla of Fairfax and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with two counts of robbery by force, one count of malicious wounding by mob, and one count of misdemeanor assault by mob, according to police. After being held on a secure bond, Molla was released on bail.

On Tuesday, Molla was arraigned by the clerk of the court and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2026, in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, according to court records.

The robbery by force charges are Class 5 felonies, which each carry a potential sentence of one to 10 years in prison or up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to a $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.

The most serious charge Molla faces is the malicious wounding by mob, which is a Class 3 felony. If convicted on this charge, he faces five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000, according to Virginia law.
