Asian Festival On Main To Celebrate Asian Cultures In Fairfax City
The Asian Festival on Main is coming to Fairfax City on Sunday, May 15 to celebrate Asian cultures and promote local businesses.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA— Asian Festival on Main is coming to Fairfax City on Sunday, May 15 to celebrate Asian cultures, promote local businesses and support the Asian American and Pacific Islander movement.
The 2nd annual event will highlight Asian heritage through food, arts and craft, education, and performances.
Asian Festival on Main, organized by the Old Town Fairfax Business Association, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday on Main Street in Fairfax City, between Chain Bridge Road and East Street and Old Lee Highway. The street will be closed to vehicle traffic during the festival.

One of the special events at the 2022 festival is the AFM Cos-Play show. People of all ages are invited to dress up as their favorite anime, comic book, movie, TV, sci-fi and Disney character. Visit this site to sign up for the Cos-Play show.
The audience will get to vote for their favorite Cos Play Show participants, and winners will get to parade around the festival.

Up to 20 different local Asian food vendors and food trucks will be at the festival. Asian Festival Main also will include a full day of artistic performances on the main stage, with a program enjoyable for all ages that celebrates many Asian cultures.
Attendees also will get to enjoy games and an interactive area for those wishing to learn origami, how to do a kick-flip on a skateboard and improve your yo-yo skills. In the exhibits area, guests will get a chance to learn about the special contributions of Americans of Asian descent.
Asian Festival on Main is free to attend, but guests who register will be entered to win grand prizes from Old Town Fairfax Business Association. Food, drink and crafts will also be available for purchase at the festival.
The City of Fairfax is a co-sponsor of the event. The City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation Event Management is also helping with the logistics of the festival.
If the event gets rained out, the rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 22 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
