FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Even though Christmas is fast approaching, Fairfax City residents still have time to save a bundle by shopping locally.

Fairfax City Economic Development, the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, and the Old Town Fairfax Business Association are hosting the Holiday Small Business Month.

By visiting GoFairfaxCity, shoppers can purchase as Flex Card that will allow them to receive a 40 percent bonus on the purchase of second item at one of the 55 participating businesses in Fairfax City, including:

"That's just more dollars that you can use to spend here locally with our retailers," said Tara Borwey, FCED's assistant director of programs and retail strategy. "Right now, we have over 55 participating businesses, so you can really give the gift of anything in Fairfax City."

Fairfax City Holiday Small Business Month kicked off on Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 22.
