Assistance League Looks Forward To Another Productive Year

Luncheon Celebrates Members' Community Service

As another school year ends, and the long lazy days of summer stretch out before us, Assistance League of Northern Virginia volunteers gathered to celebrate another year of community service supporting local children through food, clothing and literacy. A luncheon was held at Piero’s Corner Italian Restaurant where the new ALNV board members were sworn in and awards were presented to members for leadership, dedication and a job well done.

During the summer, while children are not in school to receive services, ALNV is providing the schools that they serve with Giant gift cards to help support children who experience food insecurity. They have also delivered hundreds of books to the schools that they serve so that their Little Libraries remain stocked throughout the summer, encouraging children to keep reading.
