Bond Vet Provides Urgent Care For Fairfax City’s Pets
Bond Vet celebrates opening of its Fairfax City location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by city business leaders.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fairfax business leaders joined Mayor Catherine S. Read on Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome Bond Vet to the city. The urgent care veterinary clinic opened its doors at Scout on the Circle in October.
Chris Bruno, director of Fairfax City Economic Development, told Patch on Thursday that Bond Vet was one of those service providers that makes it easier to live in a place like the city.
“We're particularly happy to welcome this business to this project here. because it's an amenity for the residents that live above us," he said, referring to Scout on the Circle residents. "But also for the people who live within a short drive of this location, which is here in Fairfax Circle. It's a particularly important location of the city, but also services people that are just beyond the city as well.”

As an urgent care clinic, Bond Vet has greater flexibility in the types of services it can provide compared to the traditional primary veterinary clinic or an emergency hospital.

Samy Pozo, clinic manager at the Fairfax City Bond Vet, told Patch on Thursday that she likes to describe her clinic as “the middle person” in the type of veterinary services it provides.
“We take walk-ins. We take same-day appointments,,” Pozo said. “Our schedules are pretty much open to everyone that wants to schedule an appointment. Our wait times are very, very little and minimal.”
In the same way an urgent care clinic provides fast access to medical care for humans, Bon Vet’s urgent care assesses a patient’s condition, treats what they’re able to and recommends an emergency room visit if one is warranted, according to Pozo.
Prior to the opening of the Fairfax City location, Pozo managed the Bond Vet clinics in Arlington and Alexandria. At that time, she was aware of the Fairfax City area and recognized Bond Vet might be a good fit there.
“I've never seen a clinic that does what Bond Vet does out here, with having that access to care,” she said.
Located in the Scout on the Circle development at 9428 Fairfax Blvd., Bond Vet sits at Fairfax City’s eastern gateway, providing easy access to both city and county pet owners. It’s also just down the road from both the Town and Country Animal Hospital in the city and VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center in Merrifield.
“The location is just perfect,” Pozo said. “It’s right off a very, very busy street. The location is specifically located near the emergency clinics, because we're urgent care, and we need to work very closely with those facilities.”
Aside from offering urgent care, Bond Vet also welcomes “happy visits” from pooches and felines that may be nervous about going to the vet.
“Like our main focus, whatever the appointment comes in for, it's just to make that visit a happy visit, to kind of turn it around,” Pozo said. “We know how difficult it can be for someone to come in for an urgent visit, and it can be very stressful. So this staff is trained to make sure that it doesn't feel like that."
