FAIRFAX, VA — Britepaths is seeking donations from the community to provide meals and gifts to 265 families across Fairfax County during the upcoming holiday season as part of the Fairfax-based nonprofit's Holiday Program.

Along with donating money, community members are invited to attend Britepaths’ Wine & Wonderment wine tasting event on Nov. 9 at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church. All proceeds from the event will go to the Holiday Program for Fairfax County families.

Families in need were referred to Britepaths by staff at Fairfax High School and Justice High School and the elementary and middle schools that feed into the two high schools.

“Britepaths' Holiday Program presents an opportunity for individuals, families, businesses, and community groups to make a difference for our neighbors during the holiday season,” Britepaths Executive Director Lisa Whetzel said in a statement Wednesday.

“We hope community members will be inspired to make the season brighter for hard-working families who may otherwise go without special holiday meals and presents for their children,” Whetzel said.

For nearly 40 years, Britepaths has been serving Northern Virginia residents in crisis. For this year’s Holiday Program, Britepaths will be distributing gift cards that will allow parents to purchase food for Thanksgiving and December holiday meals and gifts for their children.

Britpaths’ Holiday Program sponsors are American Legion Post 177 in Fairfax, the Peterson Family Foundation and Walmart Store #2015 in Fair Lakes.

To donate money, the public can visit Britepaths' Holiday Program page. Community members can make donations using the Britepaths' online donation form and create their own donation campaigns to share with friends and colleagues.

Checks or gift cards should be mailed to Britepaths, 3959 Pender Drive, Suite 200, Fairfax, VA 22030. Donors should write "Holiday" in the check memo line.

The Britepaths’ Wine & Wonderment wine tasting event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 2941 Restaurant, at 2941 Fairview Park Dr. in Falls Church.

Attendees will get to enjoy a variety of wines and appetizers prepared by 2941 Restaurant. They will also get to bid in a silent auction. Auction items include a diamond pendant from Diamonds Direct Tysons, beauty and spa gift baskets from Alya Salon & Spa in Vienna, and an artistic photography package by Viktoria Art Photography.

Event tickets are $75 per person. Tickets can be purchased at https://britepaths.org/event/ww2022. The silent auction items can also be previewed on the website. Britepaths recommends advance registration for the event, but walk-in registration may be available.
