Country Club Hills, Old Lee Hills, Great Oaks Targeted in Rash of Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles (With Map)
25 incidents have been reported.

Police are investigating 25 reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles in Country Club Hills, Old Lee Hills and Great Oaks neighborhoods from over the weekend.
Most of these vehicles were parked in driveways or on the street in front of homes. All were unlocked.

Vehicle owners awoke Sunday morning to find iPods, GPS units, cameras, cell phones, clothing, cash and other valuables missing from their cars.
One Country Hill Drive resident discovered their 2002 Chrylser Sebring missing from the driveway.

Police urge residents to remove (or hide) their valuables and lock their vehicles. Officers also ask everyone to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and to report it to the police department at 703-385-7960.
Incidents reported on July 23-24:
- 3400 block of Country Hill Drive. One unlocked vehicle entered.
- 3500 block of Country Hill Drive. Four unlocked vehicles entered.
- 3500 block of Country Hill Drive. Sometime between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Someone stole a 2002 Chrysler Sebring from driveway, striking a backyard fence on the way out. A cup of coins is missing from the second car parked in the same driveway.
- 3400 block of Queen Anne Drive. Two unlocked vehicles entered.
- 9800 block of Hampton Lane. Four unlocked vehicles entered.
- 9800 block of McLearen Court. Two unlocked vehicles entered.
- 9900 Block of Broadview Drive. Five unlocked vehicles entered.
- 9900 Block of Pinehurst Avenue. Three unlocked vehicles entered.
- 9900 Block of Farr Drive. One unlocked vehicle entered.
- 3400 block of White Oak Court. Sometime between 10:15 p.m. and 4:14 a.m. Unknown person(s) entered two unlocked cars in an open garage. Taken: Two pairs of prescription sunglasses. A neighbor's unlocked car also seemed to have been entered. It too was parked inside an open garage. Nothing from that vehicle was reported taken.
- 4100 block of Addison Road. A stolen purse from an unlocked parked vehicle on Addison Road was found on the playground at Ratcliffe Park at Sagar Avenue and Locust Street around 11 a.m. on July 24.
