Crime Report: Man Forces His Way Into Apartment

Residents of the Foxcroft Colony Condominiums, in the 9400 block of Fairfax Boulevard, called police recently when a man no one recognized forced his way into one of the apartments.

The residents reported that, just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, a male subject forced his way into their apartment and into a room, which he locked.

When the residents called police, the man fled the apartment before the officers arrived.

The City of Fairfax Police's Patrol Division is continuing the investigation to try and positively identify and locate the suspect.

The following additional incidents were also reported by the City of Fairfax Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 9 - Shoplifting Arrest: The manager of Petland, 9404 Main St., called to report that a man had been detained for trying to leave the store with an aquarium without paying for it. A subsequent investigation revealed that the man had also stolen various items from the store the day before. The 23-year-old Fairfax man was arrested and transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with both grand and petit larceny and ordered held without bond.

Oct. 10 - Assault: A male CUE bus driver reported that an unknown male subject had punched him in the face when his fare card would not work. The subject then got off the bus and left the area on foot. The victim did not require medical treatment. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.

Oct. 10 - Fraud: A resident of the 10300 block of Wood Road reported that she had received suspicious phone calls. In the first call, a male claiming to be her son said he had been in an accident in Pennsylvania and been arrested. Then, a female called back and told her to send a money gram to Reading, Penn., which the woman did. She then received another call from the female directing her to send more money, at which time the victim called police.

Oct. 8 - Counterfeiting: The manager of the Dunkin' Donuts at 10020 Main St. called to report that an unknown male subject had paid for his breakfast that morning with a $20 bill she had subsequently determined was counterfeit. The United States Secret Service was contacted.
