Fatal Shooting in Fairfax: Police Identify Victim

A woman was fatally shot and a man was sent to the hospital Friday with life-threatening injuries in the Fairfax area, police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- (UPDATE Saturday 12:10 p.m.): As detectives continue their investigation into Friday's double shooting on Okla Drive, they have identified the deceased woman as 51-year-old Donna Pentek, Fairfax County Police announced Saturday.

The 53-year-old man who was shot remains in the hospital, but his injuries are now considered non-life-threatening, police said. Detectives are attempting to piece together a chronology of the events that led to the shooting.

Two people were shot and one is dead Friday in the Fairfax area, Fairfax County Police said Friday night. At 3:25 Friday afternoon, police got a call for a shooting at a home in the 9200 block of Okla Drive in Fairfax (see map below).

The call to police came from a family member, police said. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. They also found a man who had been shot; he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe this is a domestic-related incident and that there is no threat to the community, police said. Police are currently conducting interviews, canvassing the neighborhood and gathering information. Crime scene technicians are processing the scene.
