Fairfax City Business Offers Free Pizza For Furloughed Workers

Firenza Pizza has the free pizza offer available on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

FAIRFAX, VA—With the government shutdown reaching one month, an area business has an offer to help furloughed federal employees. If they hit visit Firenza Pizza at 10160 Fairfax Boulevard, they can receive a free 10-inch cheese or pepperoni pizza on Tuesday, Jan. 22. To redeem the offer, federal workers must download the Firenza Pizza app and present their federal employment ID.

"We want to help out our federal workers in any way we can," Firenza co-founder and president Dave Baer said. "As a locally-based business, the affected employees are our neighbors and we feel it is only right to give back to them during a stressful time."

Firenza Pizza offers a selection of signature and made-to-order pizzas, which are cooked in an open-flame, stone-hearth oven.
