Fairfax City Council Member Anthony Amos Weds Marena Monterrosa
The freshman council member first met his bride in 2018 in Hawaii and they became engaged last December.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fairfax City Council Member Anthony Amos married his fiancée Marena Monterrosa in a Sept. 20 ceremony at Fairfax Circle Church in Fairfax. The couple first met in Hawaii in 2018 and became engaged last December.
"I’m grateful to God for blessing my life with so much opportunity and grace," Amos said, in a Sept. 19 Facebook post celebrating his birthday. "I’m excited to see what 27 holds in store. Thank you to everyone who continues to love and support me, and a special thank you to my soon-to-be wife for making me the happiest man in the universe!"
2024 turned out to be a pretty big year for Amos. In addition to the engagement, he was elected to the city council for the first time in the Nov. 5 general election and earned a master's in public policy degree from George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government.

“I have a lot to be grateful for this year,” Amos said, in a Dec. 27 Facebook post, announcing his engagement to Monterrosa. “God truly blessed me in many profound ways that I could have never anticipated. Walking alongside me through the trials and accomplishments was the strongest, most incredible person I have ever met. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. I’m very lucky.”

Amos works for The Michaels Organization as a development associate and affordable housing developer. He previously served as a legislative aide to Fairfax County Supervisor Patrick Herrity (R-Springfield).
