Fairfax City Election 2025 Voter Guide: Meet Candidates For Delegate, 3 Statewide Races
Fairfax City voters will cast ballots Tuesday to determine the winners in three statewide races and the District 11 House of Delegates race.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Voters in Fairfax City will head to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in the Nov. 4 general election. They will decide who will be the next governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general, as well as who will represent them in the Virginia House of Delegates.
As of 5 p.m. on Saturday, 4,015 Fairfax City voters cast ballots in the early voting period, which ran from Sept. 19 to Nov. 1, according to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections. In addition, 1,099 by-mail ballots were returned. In total, 5,114 city voters have cast ballots, which is 28.72 percent of the 17,804 active registered voters in the city.
Polls will be open Tuesday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Fairfax City voters will also cast ballots for their representative to the Virginia House of Delegates.

Fairfax City voters will find two other races on this year's ballot in which both incumbent candidates are running unopposed. Candidates for city office run as independents.

To vote on Election Day, visit your assigned polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. An acceptable form of ID is required to vote in person.
Visit the Citizen Portal on the Virginia Department of Elections website to check your registration status. The deadline for registering or updating your registration to vote in person or by mail was Oct. 24. However, voters may register and vote using a provisional ballot in-person on Election Day.
Completed mail-in ballots can be turned in on Election Day at drop boxes at any Fairfax City polling place or the Fairfax City Hall drop box located by the Atrium entrance closest to George Mason Boulevard.
The deadline for returning a ballot by drop box is 7 p.m. on Nov. 4. Completed ballots returned by mail must be received by noon on Nov. 7.
