$2.8M Windfall For VA Man Who Won Jackpot Playing Lottery Online Game

A Fairfax City man won more than $2.8 million playing a Virginia Lottery online game recently.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A Fairfax City man won big playing a Virginia Lottery online game recently, raking in a jackpot worth $2,827,472.

“Maybe I’m going to get some luck today,” Samer Jarrah said, when he sat down to play MONOPOLY Super Spin.

When Jarrah realized he'd won the jackpot, he told lottery officials: “My eyes came out, I said, ‘What happened!?’"

MONOPOLY Super Spin is one of dozens of online instant games available at the Virginia Lottery’s website, valottery.com, and on the Virginia Lottery mobile app. It features a progressive, growing jackpot. The odds per game of winning a prize are 1 in 3.88.

Jarrah has no immediate plans on how to spend his winnings. “I’m so light! I’m going to fly,” he said.

All profits from the Virginia Lottery go to fund K-12 education across the state. Fairfax City, where Jarrah lives, received $487,000 in lottery funds for education during last fiscal year.
