Fairfax City Police Log: Counterfeit $100 Bill Passed at Starbucks

The following information was provided by the City of Fairfax Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported to the City of Fairfax police between Feb. 26 and March 1.

10350 Willard Way / Safeway – On February 26 at 10:47 AM a manager reported that a male subject had been observed concealing merchandise under his coat and leaving the store without paying for it. He then left the area in a vehicle. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, the suspect was identified and located at his residence. Oscar Saul Paz, 52, of Fairfax, was charged with petit larceny and released on a summons.

 

Larceny

 

3800 Block of Hill Street – On February 26 at 12:33 PM the vehicle owner reported that on February 25 between 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM unknown person(s) had stolen her purse from her unlocked vehicle which was parked on the driveway of her residence. The purse contained cash, identification, credit cards, two iPhones, an iPod, a notebook computer and assorted medications.

 

Trespassing Arrest

 

9929 Main Street / Papa John’s Pizza – On February 26 at 4:16 PM a police officer observed a female subject who had previously been given a trespass notice by the owner of the business re-enter the establishment. Lasonya Sharpe, 40, of Alexandria, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where a warrant was issued charging her with trespassing and she was held without bond.

 

Fraud

 

10930 Fairfax Boulevard / Starbucks – On March 1 at 10:17 AM the manager reported that on February 25 an unknown female subject had presented a $100 bill in payment. The bill was subsequently determined to be counterfeit and was turned over to the United States Secret Service.

 

Larceny

 

9654 Fairfax Boulevard / Farrish Jeep – On March 1 at 4:17 PM a manager reported that sometime between 8:30 PM on February 28 and 8:00 AM on March 1 unknown person(s) had removed the spare tires from the backs of four vehicles on the dealership’s lot,

 

Larceny

 

3600 Block of Devilwood Court – On March 1 at 5:07 PM a contractor doing construction work at the residence reported that sometime between 3:30 PM on February 28 and 12:15 PM on March 1 unknown person(s) had stolen a ladder and scaffolding equipment which had been placed under a deck at the residence.

 

Fraud

 

4180 Chain Bridge Road / Law Offices of Mark B. Gore – On March 1 at 7:41 PM an employee reported that two tickets to a sporting event that the firm had purchased through the Internet had been determined to be counterfeit and attempts to contact the male subject to whom payment had been sent were unsuccessful.

 

Vandalism

 

3165 Campbell Drive / M&M Collision – On March 2 at 2:25 PM the owner reported that sometime between 6:30 PM on March 1 and 8:00 AM on March 2 unknown person(s) had spray painted graffiti on a plywood panel covering an entrance to the business.
