Fairfax City Precincts Prefer Haley Over Trump In Presidential Primary
As former President Donald Trump is likely to be the Republican nominee, but most precincts in Fairfax City favored opponent Nikki Haley.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Former President Donald Trump won Virginia and most other Super Tuesday contests, making it likely he will be the Republican nominee. In Fairfax City, five out of six precincts preferred Trump's opponent Nikki Haley.
Haley was the only Republican candidate aside from Trump who hadn't dropped out of the race by Super Tuesday. Virginia was one of 16 U.S. states and territories holding Republican and Democratic primaries. In the Democratic primary, President Joe Biden won much of the votes over opponents in Virginia.
Overall, Trump gained 63.31 percent of votes in Virginia, while Haley had 34.64 percent with 132 of 133 precincts reporting. In Fairfax City, Haley had 56.68 percent of votes and Trump had 33.55 percent with all but provisional ballots counted.

On Wednesday, Haley announced she is suspending her presidential campaign, leaving Trump as the sole Republican candidate. Trump won all Super Tuesday contests, except Vermont. The former president now has 995 delegates, with 1,215 delegates needed to secure the nomination.
