Fairfax Forecast: Heat Index Over 105, Severe Storms

UPDATE (7:43 p.m.): Back to a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m.

(4:37 p.m.): Severe thunderstorm watch upgraded to a warning.

Fairfax City and the surrounding jurisdictions are under a heat advisory and severe thunderstorm watch until Wednesday night 

National Weather Service says severe storms could cause damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall. What's more, heat indices are expected to top 105 degrees during the afternoon.

The heat advisory and storm watch are in effect until 9 p.m.
