The party features all-night food, casino games and other activities, entertainment, prizes and more.
"The All-Night Graduation Party costs well over $30,000," organizers say on the Fairfax High website. "It needs lots of 'parent power' to make it a success."
This year, the party has three major sponsors, in addition to roughly 30 other sponsors. The three major sponsors this year include the City of Fairfax, Wegman's of Fairfax and Lifetouch Photography. Students also buy a $45 ticket to attend, to help off-set costs. The ticket price includes a Grad Night t-shirt.
This morning, Fairfax City Mayor Scott Silverthorne said on his Facebook page that he was prepping to give one of today's commencement speeches for the Fairfax High graduation ceremony.
"Congratulations to Fairfax High School's Class of 2013," he said. "One of the cool responsibilities as Mayor is to be an official part of the ceremony at noon today."
"It's hard to imagine, but today's class has over 200 more students than my class of '84 did," he continued. "Best wishes to all graduates as they move to the next chapter of their lives."
All in all, Patch would like to wish the class of 2013 congratulations on their graduation today! Share your photos of today's graduation with us in this gallery, and give your favorite 2013 grad a shout-out in the comments below!
