Fairfax Library Foundation Presents Emily St. John Mandel

The best-selling author is a guest at the upcoming 24th Annual Fall for the Book Festival.

After two years of offering the festival virtually, Fall for the Book is thrilled to be back with both in-person and online events for the 24th year. On Saturday, October 15th, the Fairfax Library Foundation Presents Emily St. John Mandel, in the closing headline slot. Foundation Director Lisa Bryant says, “The Fairfax Library Foundation is excited to serve as one of the major sponsors for the 2022 Fall for the Book Festival. Our featured author is Emily St. John Mandel, who will be discussing her most recent novel, Sea of Tranquility. We look forward to an amazing evening of thought provoking conversation with Ms. Mandel."

In addition to Sea of Tranquility, Mandel is also the author of The Glass Hotel, and Station Eleven, now a miniseries on HBO Max. She will cap off the festival at 7:30 p.m. in Harris Theater on Mason’s Fairfax Campus, talking about her new space and time-defying novel that The New Yorker’s Katy Waldman calls “destabilizing, extraordinary, and blood-boiling…”

Fall for the Book runs from October 12-15, with special preview events on October 6 -11. On-demand and live streamed events will be available on the festival’s website and YouTube channel. All events are free and open to the public, thanks to our sponsors.
