Why Go: Join Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey for their 200th anniversary circus performance at the Patriot Center.

"Happy Days"--A Musical by PVI Players

Where/When: Paul VI Catholic High School, 10675 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030. April 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m., and April 17 at 2 p.m. 

Why Go: The PVI Players proudly presents the brand new musical "Happy Days" based on the old TV show.

Price: Tickets are students/seniors $10; adults $15.  Family of 4 discount admission for $30.

Cookie Classics Cooking Class for Adult & Child

Where / When: Culinaria Cooking School, 110 Pleasant Street Northwest, Vienna; Saturday, April 16, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: Spend the morning baking up some love with your child in Culinaria's beautiful facility. You'll make snickerdoodles, oatmeal apricot, make-your-own slice & bake, and chocolate chip cookies.

Price: $80.00 for a pair of adult and child. Register online.

George Mason University Chamber Ensembles Concert

Where / When: de Laski Performing Arts Building at George Mason University, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Room 3001; Sunday, April 17, 3:00 p.m.

Why Go: Experience beautiful, live music with your child. Let them hear how university students perform professionally in instrumental groups.

Price: Free! 

Historic Garden Week Tours

Where / When: Five historic houses in the area, including two in McLean; Tuesday, April 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit the Web site for more details.

Why Go: It's Historic Garden Week in Virginia around the state, where historic houses with lovely gardens open their doors and grounds for tours. See the gardens at the peak of Virginia’s springtime color. 

Price: $20 prior to tour and $25 on day of tour for adults; children ages 6-12 are $10; ages 5 and under are free. Note that strollers and backpacks are not allowed in houses. Buy tickets in advance online or at select local businesses to save $5; otherwise you can purchase at the properties.
