Help Bring Rachel Home

Lost dog last seen near Fairfax Circle.

Nothing would please Doug and Susan Stewart more than to find Rachel, their beloved Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix who went missing in Fairfax City. Since the Wednesday before Memorial Day, the Stewarts and neighborhors have combed the streets and woods just west of Fairfax Circle in search of the missing dog.

Rachel originally ran from the 9000 block of Fairfax Boulevard/Route 50 between Draper Drive and Rebel Run, across from Harley Davidson. People have sighted Rachel in Draper Drive, Ranger Road, and Van Dyck Parks, as well as in Mosby Woods and Mantua. Click here for a map of Rachel sightings.

Salsa, the dog belonging to Sam Connelly of Pure Gold Pet Trackers, tracked Rachel’s scent along this route (click for map)

Nine-year-old Rachel is micro-chipped but not wearing a collar or tags. She’s shy, and not likely to come to strangers, even if they have treats. If you see her, do not yell out her name or chase her.

If you believe you have sighted Rachel, note the time of day and your location then call Doug Stewart at (703) 203-5703 or Susan at (703) 203-3072 as soon as you can. If you have suggestions, want to follow or help in the search, join Rachel’s Facebook page.
