Motorists will have to drive an extra exit and follow a detour to get from interstates 66 to 495 this weekend.
Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Exit 64, the I-66 west ramp to I-495 south will be closed until 5 a.m. Monday. The closure makes way for ramp reconstruction, according to Virginia Department of Transportation.
Detour route: Continue west on I-66 to Exit 62, Nutley street, then follow the signs to I-66 east and onto I-495 south.

As part of the Capital Beltway High Occupancy Toll Lanes Project, reconstruction includes demolition and paving. Construction is weather permitting.
