Lane Closures on Main, Lee Highway This Week

Drivers should watch out for lane closures as Fairfax City works on road improvements along Main Street, Lee Highway and at City Hall this week. Here's what to look for:

• Main Street at Orchard Drive, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: The left eastbound turn lane and the center median crossover to the Fairfax Square Apartments will be closed for corrugated steel pipe replacement.
• City Hall Parking Lot through August 25: Drivers will still have access to the parking lot. Most of the work will be at City Hall's rear loading and delivery area. The loading dock will be blocked off until Friday. All deliveries should be taken to the City Hall atrium building entrance on George Mason Boulevard. Public Works is replacing asphalt and concrete in that area.
• Lee Highway through next week: Traffic will be directed around milling and paving operations on Lee between Main Street and the western city limits. Keep an eye out for closed lanes, alternating as the work progresses.
