Man Assaults Driver Who Rear-Ended Him In Fairfax: Police

A man was arrested after assaulting the driver who had just rear-ended the vehicle in which he was riding in Fairfax, according to police.

FAIRFAX, VA—A man was arrested Tuesday after assaulting the driver who had just rear-ended the vehicle in which he was riding at the intersection of Chain Bridge Road and Fairfax Boulevard, according to Farifax Police. Richard Mbaye, 30, of the 5500 block of Karen Elain Drive in New Carrolton, Md., was charged with assault and battery.

Shortly after 12:15 p.m., according to police, a vehicle was struck from behind in the aforementioned area. Immediately afterward, Mbaye got out of the struck vehicle, approached the other vehicle and slugged the driver in the head.

Minor injuries were reported. Mbaye was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Dention Center and later released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.

Unauthorized Use Arrest / 19-3270

10441 Fairfax Boulevard/Ourisman Toyota - On March 6 at 12:33 P.M. it was reported that a customer failed to return a vehicle on time per a rental agreement. Tanseh Nicholas, 32, of 13838 Jefferson Park Drive #9107, Herndon was arrested on March 7 at 3:40 P.M. and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was held on a secured bond of $1,000.

DUI & Resisting Arrest / 19-3393

9908 Fairfax Boulevard/PJ Skidoo’s – On March 8 at 3:26 A.M. a subject was stopped in the parking lot related to driving behavior. The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. While attempting to place the subject under arrest, the suspect actively resisted before being taken into custody. Luis Rivera, 24, of 3712 Penderwood Drive, Oakton was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

9400 Block of Fairfax Boulevard/Foxcroft Condominiums – On March 12 at 11:23 A.M. the victim reported that sometime between March 11 at 7:00 P.M. and March 12 at 7:30 A.M. unknown persons punctured a tire on their vehicle.

10300 Block of Layton Hall Drive/Layton Hall Apartments – On March 12 at 7:54 P.M. the victim reported that sometime between March 3 and March 4 at 11:00 P.M. unknown persons poured sugar inside the gas tank of their vehicle.
