FAIRFAX, VA—A man found himself jailed without bond this week following what began as simple drunk-in-public situation in the 10300 block of Willard Way, according to Fairfax Police. As it was, Dominic Carter, 26, of no fixed address, was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, destruction of property, obstruction of justice, littering and being intoxicated in public.

Police had responded to the area for a possibly intoxicated man, and upon arrival they saw him toss away a glass bottle (littering). When Carter—who indeed appeared to be intoxicated—rebuffed police attempts to get him to leave the area, he was arrested. Then, while being put in a cruiser, he assaulted an officer and kicked out a window of the police vehicle.
