Masked Man Robs Woman In Tysons Before Her Boyfriend's Home Is Burglarized
A man is facing charges in connection with the burglary, Fairfax County police said.

TYSONS, VA — A man is facing charges after police said he burglarized a home in Fair Oaks on Thursday. Authorities are also investigating whether the burglary was connected to an armed robbery that occurred in Tysons just minutes earlier.
According to Fairfax County police, officers responded to the 8600 block of Westwood Center Drive in Tysons shortly before 9:10 a.m. after receiving a call about a robbery.
When police arrived, the victim told officers she was walking in the parking garage when a masked suspect approached her with a rifle, grabbed her and stole her phone.

Police said the victim escaped and the suspect fled before officers arrived. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
At 9:25 a.m., the victim’s boyfriend arrived at the crime scene and, while there, he received an alert from his home security system. According to police, the man observed a suspect breaking into his home in the 4500 block of Plateau Drive in Fair Oaks.

Officers responded and confirmed the home was burglarized and high-value Pokémon cards were stolen, according to police. The suspect again fled before officers arrived.
According to police, detectives quickly identified the home burglary suspect as Mohammad Asif, 36, of California. Detectives located Asif at a nearby residence and took him into custody.
Asif was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with burglary, two counts of grand larceny, conspiracy to commit robbery and a firearms charge. He was held without bond.
Police said investigators believe the two incidents are related and are working to identify the person who robbed the woman.
