Month of Burglaries Involve Beer, International Phone Calls, Court Threats

Fairfax City police activity in the last month.

Fairfax City police investigated 10 burglaries in the past month. Most incidents involved stolen televisions, laptops and the odd case of beer. Others involved international phone calls and an argument gone out of hand. Read on for the details:

  • Unknown person(s) entered a residence on the 10800 block of Orchard Street through an unsecured door sometime after 11 p.m. on March 31 and left with a laptop and purse containing cash, credit cards and a cell phone.
  • The owner of a property on the 10400 block of Breckinridge Lane called police after noticing someone(s) had stolen a motorcycle from a garage on the property. The crime occured sometime between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on March 28.
  • A man forced his way into a home on the 3800 block of Bradwater Street on March 22 after having an argument with a woman over a court appearance. He forced his way into her home and threatened her about appearing in court again, then left. The suspect has been identified. Police have warrants for his arrest.
  • Unknown person(s) broke into a home on the 4000 block of Chestnut Street sometime after 7:45 p.m. on March 25. The suspect(s) left with a television and laptop. They also stole car keys and grabbed another laptop and an iPod from a vehicle parked at the home. Another vehicle parked in the driveway, this one unlocked, had also been entered but nothing was taken.
  • NOVACO called police after employees released someone(s) entered the building's utility closet and made international telephone calls sometime between March 1 and 22. Police are investigating this as a burglary.
  • Burglars left a home on the 3800 block of Jancie Road with a television set, cash and a case of beer sometime after 12:30 a.m. on March 18. They gained access through an unlocked door. Another resident on the 3800 block of Jancie Road called police after realizing someone(s) had entered their home and taken a television set, video game equipment and video games sometime between 2-4 that same early morning.
  • A Park Road resident called police after noticing someone(s) had gone into his backyard and tampered with two windows on the back of his house sometime after noon on March 16. The suspect(s) did not gain entry.
  • Firefighters were in for a little surprise when they responded to an activated fire alarm on the 11200 block of James Swart Circle on March 14 and found a smashed window. County police located man sleeping in a vehicle in the residence's garage and turned him over to Fairfax City police. David Adam Black, 30, of Buccanneer Court in Fairfax was charged with burglary.
  • Unknown person(s) broke a window to gain entry to a home on the 10600 block of Norman Avenue sometime after 7 p.m. on March 2. The suspect(s) hammered holes into the home's drywall and turned on a faucet to flood the basement.
