Mosby Woods Drive Man Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Neighbor

Julio Ruiz was charged with assault and battery.

Police arrested Julio Ruiz, 45, of Mosby Woods Drive for allegedly assaulting a neighbor while walking on a wooded path behind the condo complex on Mosby Woods Drive on Dec. 8.

The victim, a 31-year-old Mosby Woods Drive resident, was walking at 7:52 p.m. when Ruiz allegedly accosted and grabbed her.

Ruiz was arrested, charged with assault and battery and taken to the Adult Detention Center where he was released on personal recognizance by a magistrate, according to Fairfax police spokesperson Warren Carmichael.

Both victim and suspect lived in the same condo complex and knew each other before the attack.

"A condition of his release was that Ruiz not have any contact with the victim, and she is free to request a protective order forbidding contact if she so desires," Carmichael said.
